The Technology Incubator and Ecosystem Unit at Najaf Technical Institute held an important meeting with the unit’s liaison members to discuss the goals and role of technology incubators in supporting small projects and linking them to the labor market in the Scientific Complex Hall.
The head of the Technology Incubator and Ecosystem Unit at the institute, M.M. Haroun Rashid Hamoud, met with the unit’s liaison members and gave a brief overview of the goals, vision and mission of technology incubators, and the importance of their role in supporting small projects and providing the necessary advice to draw up a clear plan for them. During the meeting, Professor Haroun presented the goals and mission of the technology incubator, which included:
1) Adopting scientific ideas and small projects, and helping them raise the level of work.
2) Linking universities with the ideas of their researchers and students and their capabilities and experiences in the labor market.
3) Providing the necessary support and advice to entrepreneurs, and helping them transform their ideas into successful projects.
4) Creating a supportive environment for innovation and entrepreneurship.
5) Providing the necessary resources for entrepreneurs, such as financing, training and consulting.
6) Enhancing cooperation between universities and the business sector.
7) Contributing to economic development by supporting small and medium enterprises.
8) Providing financial, administrative and technical support to small projects.
9) Helping entrepreneurs develop successful business plans.
10) Providing opportunities to communicate with investors and experts.
11) Assisting in marketing products and services.
12) Contributing to bridging the gap between education outcomes and labor market needs.
The Dean of the Institute, Prof. Dr. Haider Al-Abdeli, praised the technology incubator project and the efforts made by the incubator unit, and commented, “The goals of the technology incubator are in line with the vision of the Institute in graduating qualified cadres capable of competing in the labor market. We encourage our students and graduates of our institute to benefit from the services of the incubator and participate in the activities and programs it organizes. With our absolute belief that the technology incubator will contribute to achieving economic development in Najaf Governorate, by supporting small and medium enterprises and providing new job opportunities for young people. We are committed to providing the necessary support for the incubator, and we look forward to seeing our students’ projects turn into success stories.” In conclusion, the members of the liaison incubator unit stressed the importance of the presence of the technology incubator within the framework of the university, to adopt scientific ideas and small projects and help them to raise the level of work, in order to link universities with the ideas of their researchers and students and their capabilities and experiences in the labor market
