Message from the Honorable Dean …
Peace be upon you, and God’s mercy and blessings.
From the vicinity of the city of knowledge of the Messenger of Allah (PBUH), Imam Ali (AS), and from the city of golden domes and sacred mosques, Najaf Al-Ashraf, which has granted and continues to grant the world the radiance of its scholars, and from the breezes of the historic banks of the Euphrates, the spirit of our institute, the Technical Institute of Najaf, has spread for more than four decades.
I stand before you with pride and gratitude, bowing to this great institution and this distinguished university, and before the respected faculty members of the Technical Institute of Najaf, who have woven a unique fabric of medical, engineering, artistic, and administrative technologies. Each subject and each department represents a vital pillar for human progress and meets a real societal need.
Respected faculty members, you are the architects of knowledge and the sculptors of young minds. Within your classrooms and workshops, you ignite curiosity, fuel potential, and guide our students toward excellence. Despite all challenges and moments of frustration, remember that you are not alone in this endeavor. We are one team, a unified force dedicated to empowering future generations.
Sincere thanks go to your academic and social efforts in serving the students and our beloved country, Iraq. Let us encourage our students to think critically, think outside the box, and challenge the status quo. Let us foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment that celebrates intellectual, cultural, and professional diversity. Through collaboration and by embracing these core values, we can ensure that the Technical Institute of Najaf remains a beacon of academic excellence. We enable our students not only to become professional technicians but also innovators, leaders, and engineers for a brighter future.
Within the concept of a productive university, the institute’s departments provide consultations, services, scientific and technical expertise, and training to official institutions, the private sector, and various segments of society. In the field of training programs, the Continuing Education Center, in cooperation with the parent university, monitors and organizes these programs to refresh knowledge and provide experience and skills to the university members, as well as to open external windows with institutions and societal segments.
We encourage patents, outstanding projects, and solid research, as reflected in the fifth festival for research discussions and the 45th anniversary of the founding of this esteemed scientific institution. The Technical Institute of Najaf has held a high status among the formations of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University and all Iraqi institutes since its establishment in 1978, fulfilling the needs of the labor market and maintaining academic quality in our beloved country. For nearly five decades, the institute has shown a commitment to sincerely serving our students.
Since my first day as dean, I have focused on refining the institute’s strategic direction, creating new and promising departments in both morning and evening studies to provide new opportunities and pathways for development and utilization of resources. We are committed to identifying our strengths and building new approaches based on a solid foundation, combining the energy of talented youth with extensive experience to design innovative and advanced plans that meet the requirements and challenges of higher education.
Many national and international bodies have expressed appreciation for the institute’s orientation, organization, and effective administration. Recently, in one statement, the institute’s ongoing projects for constructing new buildings, establishing centers, launching new departments, and offering advanced studies were highlighted. All these achievements and our future aspirations align with the main goal: preparing graduates capable of performing satisfactory jobs and making a positive impact on Iraqi society and the world.
We also focus on achieving our future mission by raising awareness among citizens and professionals so that society can reach the highest levels through the development and dissemination of knowledge, as well as engagement with community members. I am proud to express my deep admiration for the central role of the Technical Institute of Najaf in fulfilling the mission of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University and supporting its efforts, within the framework of enhancing the quality and level of diploma, bachelor’s, and postgraduate programs, producing highly competent graduates.
We provide a suitable and supportive educational environment to enable students to achieve their goals and professional aspirations, through modern laboratory equipment designed to develop the skills required in the labor market. Equally important, we offer valuable and diverse social activities, providing students opportunities to develop their professional and social skills.
The Technical Institute has produced outstanding research and scientific projects published in international journals, with numerous patents applicable to providing effective solutions to real-world problems and achieving the United Nations’ sustainable development goals.
Finally, we wish our dear students continuous success, excellence, and cooperation with their professors, to develop their scientific abilities and skills, benefit from their expertise, acquire useful knowledge, and gain practical experience that will serve them after graduation as they enter the professional world.
