📋 About the Quality Assurance and University Performance Division

Based on the vision of the Dean of the Najaf Technical Institute toward achieving comprehensive quality in the fields of technical education, the Quality Assurance and University Performance Division works to establish a culture of quality and make it an institutional practice applied in all departments and units of the institute. To achieve excellence and sustainability in academic and administrative performance, the division develops and implements policies and procedures that ensure the adoption of best practices in education, training, research, and community service. This contributes to improving the educational system in all aspects. The division also cooperates with faculty members, staff, employers, and community institutions to implement institutional and program accreditation standards approved nationally and internationally, which enhances the position of Najaf Technical Institute at the local, regional, and international levels.

Since its establishment, the Quality Assurance and University Performance Division at Najaf Technical Institute has sought to achieve the highest levels of performance and excellence through efficient use of the institute’s human and material resources with the active participation of all staff members. This aims to improve the educational process, meet community needs, and satisfy labor market requirements in accordance with national and international quality standards.

🎪 Mission

The Quality Assurance and University Performance Division aims to achieve sustainability in the quality of institutional and academic performance across all departments of the institute. This contributes to continuous improvement in education, research activities, and community services in accordance with national and international standards. The division also supports the institute’s mission and strategic objectives by working toward institutional accreditation and preparing departments to obtain academic accreditation through integrated self-evaluation systems, internal review mechanisms, and the promotion of a culture of quality and continuous improvement.

🏆 Objectives

  • Supporting and developing quality assurance and accreditation systems in accordance with the requirements of institute departments and units.
  • Applying institutional accreditation standards approved by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
  • Developing human capabilities in self-evaluation, quality assurance, and accreditation through continuous training.
  • Enhancing community confidence locally and internationally in the institute’s educational outcomes and services.
  • Providing recommendations to institute management regarding development policies and quality improvement programs.

📈 Division Tasks

  • Preparing and following up the implementation of the strategic plan for the Quality Assurance Division.
  • Preparing the agenda for Quality Assurance Council meetings and following up their recommendations.
  • Monitoring the annual performance evaluation of staff and faculty members according to ministry regulations.
  • Ensuring the implementation of institutional accreditation standards in all departments.
  • Following academic accreditation standards according to the nature of programs and departments.
  • Conducting periodic monitoring to ensure compliance with quality assurance standards.
  • Completing requirements related to national institutional and program rankings.
  • Following up the preparation of self-evaluation reports and improvement plans according to the Bologna Process.
  • Preparing the annual report of departments’ achievements.
  • Preparing surveys to measure educational quality including student and faculty evaluations.

🏢 Division Structure

  • Institutional Performance Evaluation Unit
  • This unit manages the performance evaluation of administrative leaders, faculty members, and employees through several stages including conducting workshops, monitoring evaluation procedures, preparing reports for approval by the Dean, updating evaluation databases, and managing official correspondence.

  • Quality Assurance Unit
  • This unit supervises the implementation of quality assurance and accreditation standards across all departments of the institute. It promotes a culture of quality and continuous improvement, monitors strategic plans, prepares self-evaluation reports, and analyzes performance indicators.

  • Laboratory Accreditation Unit
  • Laboratories are a fundamental pillar in teaching applied sciences because they provide the practical environment required for implementing scientific activities. They help students and researchers develop practical and analytical skills, apply scientific research methods, analyze data, and solve problems, making the learning process more interactive and effective.

🏆 Goals for the Academic Year (2025-2026)

  • Organizing workshops on Iraqi laboratory quality standards approved by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
  • Following up the establishment of an environmentally friendly incinerator according to approved regulations.
  • Monitoring periodic maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment.
  • Taking necessary measures to obtain laboratory accreditation from the Iraqi Accreditation Authority.
  • Transforming research laboratories into productive and applied laboratories.
  • Establishing a specialized maintenance center for laboratory equipment.
  • Establishing central laboratories that meet international standards.
