In a moving solidarity stand, the Dean of Najaf Technical Institute, Professor Haider Hassan Al-Abdali, and his senior staff stood to denounce the genocide committed by extremist terrorist groups against the Yazidis. This stand, held on August 3, commemorates this horrific crime and expresses absolute rejection of all forms of violence and extremism.
This stand embodies the institute’s national and humanitarian stance. Dr. Al-Abdali and the professors emphasized the importance of documenting these crimes and supporting victims and survivors. They called on the international community to stand united against the aggressors and killers, and against any religious or sectarian extremism that seeks to fragment the Iraqi social fabric. This initiative reflects the institute’s response to the national stand called for by His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, and the President of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, Professor Hassan Latif Al-Zubaidi. This initiative reflects the solidarity between academic institutions in Iraq at various levels. During the vigil, professors raised banners and slogans denouncing the violence against all segments of the Iraqi people, emphasizing the need for solidarity and unity in support of the oppressed. The vigil concluded with the recitation of Surat Al-Fatiha for the souls of the Yazidi martyrs and prayers for the survivors for peace and security in their homeland, Iraq. This affirms that true patriotism lies in respecting diversity and rejecting hatred.
