The Najaf Technical Institute witnessed a distinguished scientific activity represented by a joint symposium that addressed the pivotal role of technology incubators from two complementary perspectives: “From Idea to Entrepreneurship… Technology Incubators as a Driver for Human Skills Development” and “The Role of Technology Incubators in Achieving the Requirements of the Green Economy.” Professors Asst. Dr. Adhraa Mahdi Hussein Al-Athari and Asst. M.M. Zainab Ahmed presented at the Scientific Complex Hall.
In the first part of the symposium, organized by the Civil Technology Department in cooperation with the Technology Incubator Unit, entitled “The Role of Technology Incubators in Human Resources Development,” Asst. M.M. Zainab Ahmed presented an in-depth overview of the vital role of technology incubators in promoting innovation and creativity and supporting the development of human capabilities. She also highlighted their important role in qualifying young talent to meet the needs of the modern labor market, particularly in the technical and technological sectors. The lecture addressed the importance of incubators in supporting technology entrepreneurship, highlighting their effective role in launching startups and providing a stimulating environment for students and graduates to transform their ideas into successful projects that contribute to strengthening the knowledge economy. The workshop witnessed fruitful interaction from the attending faculty and students, with scholarly discussions taking place on ways to maximize the benefits of incubators and the challenges they face in light of rapid technological development. In conclusion, the importance of incubators was emphasized as a key element in human resource development in the digital age. The need to launch specialized training programs and expand cooperation between academic institutions and incubators to achieve sustainable development was suggested.
The second part of the symposium was organized by the Technology Incubator and Ecosystem Unit and focused on the topic “The Role of Technology Incubators in Achieving the Requirements of the Green Economy.” The lecture was delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Adhraa Mahdi Hussein Al-Athari from the Department of Accounting Technology, and was attended by a large gathering of students from the Departments of Accounting Technology and Health Management Technology. The lecture emphasized the pivotal role of technology incubators as a key catalyst for innovation in the field of green technology and their importance in achieving the goals of the green economy and sustainable development. It highlighted the mechanisms by which incubators support the green economy by: encouraging innovation in the fields of renewable energy, waste management, and sustainable agriculture; providing financial and technical support to green startups; enhancing cooperation and partnerships between companies, investors, and research institutions; and effectively contributing to the creation of green job opportunities and training for youth in this field.
At the conclusion of the joint symposium, Dean Professor Dr. Haider Hassan Al-Abdali emphasized the critical importance of technology incubators and their pivotal role in supporting startups. He emphasized the need to support graduates and prepare the labor market for promising talent in various technical fields.
