The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research held discussions with a delegation from the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to explore ways of enhancing joint cooperation in line with national priorities and development plans.
During the meeting, both sides reviewed the progress of completed and ongoing programs and projects, as well as mechanisms for strengthening cooperation to ensure their effective implementation. The discussions focused on improving the quality of higher education, achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and preparing qualified national professionals capable of leading academic and research transformation.
The Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Scientific Research, Professor Dr. Haider Abdul Dhahad, emphasized the Ministry’s commitment to expanding cooperation and strengthening institutional coordination with relevant international organizations, particularly UNESCO. He also highlighted the importance of supporting high-quality research initiatives and projects that keep pace with scientific and technological advancements, thereby enhancing the quality of research outcomes and contributing to sustainable development.
