The Department of Electrical Technologies at the Technical Institute of Najaf witnessed the discussion of its students’ graduation projects for the current academic year, under the direct supervision of the Dean of the Institute, Professor Dr. Haider Hassan Al-Abdali, and in the presence of a specialized discussion committee chaired by Dr. Hassan Rabee, Head of the Electrical Technologies Department, and with the membership of Dr. Abdullah Sahib, Mr. Fares Atiyah, Mr. Sadiq Abdullah, Mr. Ali Kazim, Ms. Safaa Mahmoud, and Ms. Azhar Kazim.

The discussions included the presentation of a set of purposeful applied projects that reflect the students’ skills and their ability to employ theoretical knowledge in practical, implementable solutions. The projects focused on presenting innovative ideas that can contribute to supporting the service and technical reality, both within the institute and at the community level.

Among the most notable projects discussed was the design and implementation of a smart street lighting system that relies on generating electrical energy from piezoelectric cells in addition to solar cells. The system utilizes vehicle movement to convert mechanical energy into electrical energy stored in special batteries, supported by solar panels, to be used for street lighting during nighttime hours, achieving sustainability and promoting the use of clean and environmentally friendly energy sources.

The discussions also included several projects related to the design and implementation of educational boards for practical laboratory experiments, aimed at equipping electronics and digital electronics laboratories with modern tools that contribute to improving the educational environment and keeping pace with the technological and urban developments witnessed by the Technical Institute of Najaf.

At the conclusion of the discussions, the committee praised the level of the presented projects, emphasizing the importance of supporting such initiatives that enhance innovation and contribute to serving society and developing the educational sector.
