In embodiment of the principle of joint cooperation among state institutions to enhance the academic and awareness landscape, and as a continuation of the World Sight Day Week Festival program—launched by the Dean of the Institute, Professor Dr. Haider Hassan Al-Abdali, on March 31—the institute hosted a specialized team from the Najaf Governorate Police Directorate / Community Police Department to deliver an extensive awareness seminar.

The seminar addressed highly significant societal issues, delivered by:

  • Mr. Ma’an Mousa Humaidi: Head of the Studies and Research Unit at the Community Police Department.
  • Ms. Zainab Majhool Jiyad Al-Waeli: Head of the Women’s Division at the Community Police Department.

The seminar focused on two major topics that have recently attracted public attention:

  1. Human Trafficking: An explanation of the deceptive methods used by organized crime groups and how to guard against them legally and socially.
  2. Cyber Extortion: A review of digital prevention methods against attacks and harassment that students may face, as well as official reporting mechanisms to ensure confidentiality and legal resolution.

In turn, the Dean of the Institute, Dr. Al-Abdali, stated:
“Through this cooperation, we aim to enhance students’ security awareness and protect them from digital and social risks, alongside advancing their scientific and academic level.”

The speakers emphasized the role of educational institutions as the first line of defense in protecting youth from falling victim to such crimes, praising the openness of Al-Najaf Technical Institute in collaborating with security institutions to promote a culture of law among students and staff.
