Media and Government Communication Unit – Al-Najaf Technical Institute

The Department of Civil Technologies, with its two branches—Building and Construction, and Surveying Technologies—organized a joyful ceremony in conjunction with the advent of the blessed month of Sha‘ban. The event aimed to welcome newly admitted first-year students and to commemorate the birth anniversaries of the Pure Imams from Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them).

The ceremony opened with a welcoming address by the Dean of the Institute, Professor Dr. Haidar Hassan Al-Abdali, who congratulated the students on joining this vital department. In his speech, he emphasized that commemorating the birth of the “luminous moons” during the month of Sha‘ban represents the revival of a comprehensive approach based on patience and selfless giving.

Al-Abdali added, “Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) are the foremost schools of knowledge and the role models we follow in our academic journey. From their path, we derive the values of innovation and achievement.” He also urged students to exert greater effort so that their academic year would be filled with success and excellence.

The ceremony witnessed wide attendance, led by the Assistant Deans for Scientific Affairs and Student Affairs, the Head of the Department of Civil Technologies, and a distinguished group of faculty members and staff, in an atmosphere characterized by familiarity and pride in belonging to the educational institution.

The program included a variety of segments, beginning with a fragrant recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an, followed by poetic readings and poems expressing love for the homeland and loyalty to Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), highlighting the noble values embodied by this blessed month.

For their part, first-year students expressed their happiness with this warm reception, affirming their pride in the Building and Construction branch and their aspiration to contribute to the reconstruction of the homeland through the technical skills they will acquire during their academic journey.
