In a step that reflects the keenness of Najaf Technical Institute to develop the skills of its students and provide them with the latest knowledge in the field of entrepreneurship, the Department of Cosmetic and Laser Technologies at the Institute and in the Scientific Complex Hall held a scientific symposium entitled “Entrepreneurship in the Beauty Industry: Modern Technologies and Innovations”. This symposium came in response to the directives of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and within the activities of Entrepreneurship Week, which bears an expressive slogan: “Entrepreneurship is the art of transforming ideas into actions”. The symposium witnessed a distinguished participation by Maria Company, one of the leading companies in the field of cosmetics and laser in Iraq, where the company’s representative, Dr. Muntadhar Hadi Hamid, gave a comprehensive presentation on the company’s history and its successful journey. Dr. Muntadhar reviewed the main factors that contributed to transforming Maria Company into a prominent brand, which are represented in risk, future vision, and adopting the latest marketing ideas.
For their part, Dr. Muhammad Najeh Al-Tamimi and Dr. Haider Jawad Abdul, representatives of the Department of Cosmetic and Laser Technologies, provided a comprehensive explanation of the latest technologies and devices used in laser hair removal, and the developments of this technology over the years.
This symposium aimed to achieve several goals, the most important of which are:
- Instilling a culture of entrepreneurship among students of the Department of Cosmetic and Laser Technologies, and motivating them to think creatively and transform their ideas into successful projects.
- Enhancing cooperation between academic institutions and the private sector, and providing opportunities for students to interact with successful entrepreneurs.
- Providing students with the necessary knowledge about the latest developments in the cosmetic and laser industry, and introducing them to best practices in the field of entrepreneurship.
The Dean of the Technical Institute, Prof. Dr. Haider Al-Abdeli, stated: (I am pleased to witness this fruitful cooperation between the Najaf Technical Institute and Maria Company. This partnership enriches the experience of our students and provides them with the practical knowledge necessary to master the world of beauty and laser. Such seminars contribute to building a generation of entrepreneurs capable of competing in the labor market.) This seminar is an important step in the path of supporting entrepreneurship in Iraq, and it emphasizes the importance of the partnership between the academic sector and the private sector in building an economy based on knowledge and innovation
