📋 About the Information Technology Division
The Services Division represents the executive and service interface of the institution, as it is responsible for managing and maintaining vital facilities and providing technical and logistical support. The division includes a team of technicians and specialized staff distributed across several essential units (maintenance, services, agriculture, and machinery), all working to ensure continuity of work in a safe, clean, and organized environment.
The Information Technology Division was established at the beginning of the foundation of the Najaf Technical Institute in 1978 under the name of the Electronic Computing Center. It is considered one of the most important divisions in the institute due to its significant impact on the institution’s work in light of the technological developments taking place worldwide. The division provides many services to the institute, the governorate departments, and Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, including:
1- Organizing workshops and training courses in operating, installing, and maintaining computers and their accessories, as well as service, scientific, engineering, and administrative software and various information technology, computing, and networking systems.
2- Designing, developing, and managing the institute’s website.
3- Providing all faculty members, technicians, and students with university email accounts.
4- Implementing the optical fiber network project and connecting all scientific departments, divisions, and units, as well as providing and maintaining high-speed internet lines.
5- Equipping the division’s laboratories with internal networks.
6- Implementing a surveillance camera network covering all institute buildings and connecting it to the optical fiber network with continuous maintenance.
7- Organizing computer proficiency courses and conducting examinations for applicants to postgraduate studies inside Iraq.
8- The division is also considered a center for the National Unified English Language Test (INELT).
The organizational structure of the division consists of five main units:
1- Administrative Affairs Unit
2- Training and Technical Support Unit
3- Computer and Network Maintenance Unit
4- Website Unit
5- Systems and Software Unit
The division also includes eleven laboratories and a language laboratory for student training. The Information Technology Division has ensured that these laboratories are model facilities by providing modern equipment that meets academic requirements. These laboratories are managed by an experienced technical staff with high expertise and efficiency.
