Medical equipment technology is one of the latest engineering sciences that emerged alongside the development of modern medicine. Previously, doctors alone were responsible for diagnosis and treatment, but now medical devices have become an essential complement to the doctor in diagnosing, treating, and monitoring patients.
In this context, and due to the urgent need to maintain the readiness of medical devices when needed, as well as the development of medical equipment to better serve patient health and accelerate recovery, the Department of Medical Equipment Maintenance Technology was established at the Al-Najaf Technical Institute. This was done according to the letter from Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, No. 7/47/7837, dated September 25, 2018, to contribute to providing technical personnel capable of performing these tasks. The first group of students was accepted for the academic year 2018-2019.
We strive to be the distinguished department committed to quality standards, providing the best education and contributing studies and research that contribute to the development of the local and regional community, while producing skilled graduates to meet the country's needs.
