The department was established in 1978 and includes the Construction and Building branch. Students graduate from this department in large numbers, serving as mid-level technical staff. The department carries out various field and laboratory tasks, provides engineering consultations, and prepares designs in the field of civil engineering through the Scientific and Consulting Services Office.
The department graduates more than 40 students annually. Graduates work in several fields, including building construction, irrigation and drainage canals, sewage and water systems, road and airport construction, and more. The top 10% of students continue their studies in Iraqi universities.
