The Department of Electrical Technologies is one of the main technological departments at the institute. It was established at the beginning of the institute's founding in 1978, initially with the Electrical Installations branch. The department then developed to include two branches: Electrical Installations and Electrical Machines. With the scientific advancements in the field of communications, a Communications branch was introduced as part of the Electrical Department in 1987. Later, the Electrical Installations and Electrical Machines branches were merged into a single branch, called Electrical Power, and became an independent department, now known as the Department of Electrical Technologies.
