The Dean of Najaf Technical Institute, Professor Dr. Haider Hassan Al-Abdali, inaugurated the “World Sight Week” activities on March 31st, amidst a distinguished academic and organizational atmosphere reflecting the institute’s pioneering role in serving the community and developing technical medical skills.

The event began with an official ceremony that commenced with the Iraqi national anthem, followed by a minute of silence and the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah in remembrance of the martyrs of Iraq.

The program included a video presentation documenting the journey of the Optometry Technology Department since its establishment. The video showcased:

  • Scientific Achievements: The department’s development stages and the successes achieved by the faculty and students.
  • Statistics: The growth in student enrollment over the past years, reflecting confidence in the institute’s educational outcomes.
  • The Learning Environment: Highlighting the classrooms and specialized laboratories equipped with the latest technological equipment. Global expertise in the field of vision testing is being showcased to ensure practical training that meets the highest medical standards.

During a tour of the event, Professor Dr. Haider Hassan Al-Abdali emphasized the Deanship’s ongoing support for medical departments, noting that this week presents an opportunity to exchange experiences and promote health awareness. He commended the exceptional efforts of the Vision Testing Technology Department in making this scientific event a success.
