Under the patronage of the Acting Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Helo Al-Askari, and under the supervision and attendance of the President of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Latif Al-Zubaidi, and bearing the slogan “From the Land of Mesopotamia, Ideas Take Flight”…

Amid an atmosphere rich in innovation and youthful ambition, the activities of the Entrepreneurship and Creativity Week for the year 2026 were launched today at Al-Najaf Technical Institute.

Official Opening and Inspection Tour

The University President officially announced the commencement of the events by opening the Small Projects Cluster, accompanied by the Dean of Al-Najaf Technical Institute, Prof. Dr. Haider Hassan Al-Abdali, and in the presence of a distinguished group of deans, faculty members, guests, and the institute’s senior staff.

The opening included an extensive inspection tour of the projects exhibition, during which students showcased their innovations, which varied across several fields, including:

  • Technology Transfer and Localization: Presenting unprecedented global ideas and applying them through models adapted specifically to the Iraqi work environment and the Najaf Governorate.
  • Creative Solutions: Promising projects reflecting the technical students’ ability to simulate market needs using advanced scientific approaches.

Genuine Support and Promising Opportunities

During the tour, Prof. Dr. Al-Zubaidi expressed his admiration for the students’ intellectual level, affirming that the University Presidency will sponsor and incubate creative projects and provide the necessary support to develop them, aiming to transform them from laboratory models into actual projects in the Iraqi labor market.

On the other hand, Dr. Mustafa Abdul-Zahra (Head of the Qualification, Employment, and Entrepreneurship Unit at the Institute) stated:

It is worth noting that this gathering represents the first day of a five-day program that includes daily exhibitions of innovative projects, seminars, and specialized workshops in entrepreneurship, as well as direct meetings with incubating companies seeking to attract and fund students’ ideas.

This initiative comes to strengthen the position of Al-Najaf Technical Institute as a key incubator for innovators and a bridge linking academic institutions with the real labor market.
