As part of the series of scientific achievements attained by the staff of Al-Najaf Technical Institute at international forums, Assistant Professor Dr. Firas Fadel Mohammed, Rapporteur of the Department of Oil Refining Technologies, has been selected to serve as a scientific reviewer for the prestigious international journal IEEE Transactions on Network and Service Management.
This journal, published by the IEEE organization, is considered one of the most authoritative global publication venues in the fields of communications and network technologies. It enjoys high performance indicators that reflect its leadership, most notably:
- Q1 Ranking: Classified within the first quartile (Q1) in the top category for Electrical Engineering and Computer Networks according to the SCImago database.
- Impact Factor: The journal has achieved an impact factor of 5.4, with a five-year impact factor approaching 5.5.
- International Ranking: Ranked 93rd out of 970 international journals in the field of Electrical and Electronic Engineering according to LetPub data.
In turn, the Dean of Al-Najaf Technical Institute, Professor Dr. Haider Hassan Al-Abdali, congratulated Dr. Firas Fadel on this distinguished academic achievement, noting that this selection reflects the high level of confidence the international research community places in Iraqi expertise. The Dean affirmed that the participation of the Institute’s academic staff in the review process of high–impact-factor journals is clear evidence of the rigor and quality of their scientific output.
In a related context, the Dean called upon all faculty members and researchers to continue their scientific contributions and to publish in reputable international journals, emphasizing the full support of the Deanship for all initiatives that enhance the standing of the Institute and our esteemed University in global rankings, and that strengthen the role of the Iraqi researcher as an active contributor to ensuring the quality of global scientific research.
