The University of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical / Technical Institute of Najaf, under the patronage of the President of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Latif Al-Zubaidi, and supervised by the Dean of the Technical Institute of Najaf, Prof. Dr. Haider Hassan Al-Abdali, in coordination with the Government Media and Communications Division and the Women Affairs Unit, organized an awareness workshop on breast cancer as part of the activities of the global Pink October month.
The workshop was presented by Dr. Hadeel Fadel Al-Jubouri, a specialist in obstetrics and gynecology, who reviewed the causes of breast cancer, its early symptoms, and preventive measures, emphasizing the importance of early detection in enhancing recovery chances.
The workshop witnessed active participation from female students and staff at the institute, with many questions and inquiries raised regarding the disease. Dr. Huda Saad also contributed to organizing integrated awareness activities aimed at raising community awareness about the disease.
The Dean of the Technical Institute of Najaf, Prof. Dr. Haider Hassan Al-Abdali, stressed the importance of such events in serving the local community, highlighting the institute’s role in health awareness. He explained that while breast cancer poses a threat to women’s health, regular screenings and awareness efforts can significantly help reduce its spread and achieve positive outcomes.
Dr. Hadeel Al-Jubouri emphasized that the workshop aims to empower women to recognize the disease’s symptoms at early stages and encourage them to undergo regular screenings to increase recovery chances.
This workshop is part of a series of initiatives by the Technical Institute of Najaf to promote health awareness among its members and the local community.
