Government Media and Communications Division / Technical Institute – Najaf

During a Human Rights lecture for the evening study program at the Department of Health Administration Techniques in the Technical Institute of Najaf, students launched a notable initiative aimed at highlighting the issue of violence against women. In the presence of Dr. Mahmoud Abduljalil Al-Tamimi, a faculty member at the institute, the students proposed raising hashtags condemning violence against women, whether domestic or societal, emphasizing the importance of providing equal opportunities for both genders and granting women the same opportunities available to men.

The initiative received significant engagement from the students, especially female students, who expressed their happiness with this step that reflects the youth’s awareness of women’s issues and rights. Dr. Mahmoud Abduljalil Al-Tamimi stressed the importance of such student initiatives in raising awareness of social issues, praising the students’ role in defending women’s rights and contributing to building a more just and equitable society.

In the same context, Dr. Haider Hassan Al-Abdali, Dean of the Institute, stated: “We express our pride and admiration for this wonderful student initiative, which reflects their deep awareness of their community’s issues. This attention to humanitarian and social matters, especially women’s issues, adds significant value to our university life. We encourage all students to actively participate in such activities that promote the values of tolerance and equality. The Institute’s administration fully supports everything that contributes to building a better society.”

The Dean’s office, represented by Dr. Al-Abdali, called on all educational and community institutions to adopt such initiatives and work together to eliminate violence against women and empower them to fully exercise their rights. Students were also encouraged to continue their efforts in raising awareness about the importance of this issue.
