Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, followed up on the progress achieved in the Al-Okhwa Residential City Project located near Baghdad International Airport.
The Minister reviewed the completion rates achieved within the first phase of the project, which is designated for staff of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the University of Baghdad. He also inspected the residential site environment in the presence of the Director of the Administrative and Financial Department, the Director of the Reconstruction and Projects Department, and the specialized engineering team.
During a press conference, the Minister announced the initiation of coordination procedures with the Housing Bank and the Trade Bank of Iraq (TBI) to provide the necessary bank loans supporting faculty members and employees in the registration process for housing units. The Al-Okhwa City Project includes approximately 22,000 housing units distributed across 254 buildings as part of a comprehensive planning vision that considers residential, service, and environmental aspects.
