The Technical Institute of Najaf, one of the constituent colleges of the Middle Euphrates University of Technology, held a large religious gathering to mark the passing of Lady Fatimah Al-Zahra (peace be upon her), which coincides with the 13th of Jumada al-Awwal.

The event was attended by the Dean of the Institute, Prof. Dr. Haider Hasan Al-Abdali, and senior staff members, who emphasized the importance of drawing moral lessons and high ethical values from the life of Lady Fatimah (peace be upon her).

Students and faculty played a prominent role in expressing mourning and grief. The Department of Architectural Design and Decoration, along with administrative departments, actively participated in the preparations, decorating the “Ahl al-Bayt” hall in black. The large attendance of faculty and students from the Civil Engineering and other engineering departments highlighted the unity of the academic community in commemorating this occasion.

The gathering opened with the recitation of selected verses from the Holy Quran, followed by literary segments, poems, and chants performed by the students. The Psychological Guidance and Educational Counseling Unit also contributed with a moving speech by Sheikh Hassan Al-Dajili, who drew lessons and high ethical values from the life of Lady Fatimah (peace be upon her), urging students to follow her exemplary path of chastity, patience, and support of truth.

This religious gathering is part of the institute’s educational and spiritual activities, aiming to strengthen the moral and ethical dimension of students and faculty, in line with the comprehensive mission of the technical university.
