Najaf Technical Institute, one of the constituent colleges of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, held a large religious gathering to commemorate the anniversary of the passing of Fatima Al-Zahra (peace be upon her), which falls on the 13th of Jumada Al-Awwal.
The gathering was attended by the Dean of the Institute, Professor Dr. Haider Hassan Al-Abdali, and senior faculty members, who emphasized the importance of drawing moral lessons and noble examples from the life of Fatima Al-Zahra (peace be upon her).
Students and faculty members played a prominent role in expressing grief and mourning. The Department of Architectural Design and Decoration and the administrative departments actively participated in the preparations, including draping the Ahlulbayt Hall in the institute in black. The large turnout of professors and students from the Civil Engineering Department and other engineering departments reflected the unity of the academic community in commemorating this occasion.
The gathering began with a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by literary recitations, poems, and songs performed by the institute’s students. The Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit also participated with a moving speech delivered by Professor Sheikh Hassan Al-Dujaili, who drew lessons and high moral values from the life of Lady Fatima Al-Zahra (peace be upon her), urging students to emulate her blessed example of chastity, patience, and upholding the truth.
This gathering is part of the institute’s religious and educational activities aimed at strengthening the spiritual and moral development of its students and faculty, in line with the comprehensive mission of the Technical University.
