Assistant Professor Dr. Wissam Naji Al-Muhanna, a lecturer at the Najaf Technical Institute affiliated with the Middle Euphrates University, participated as a member of the master’s thesis defense committee at the College of Education for Women at the University of Kufa.
This participation comes within the framework of ongoing scientific cooperation between academic institutions, where the master’s thesis of student Aseel Abdul Rahman was defended. The thesis bore a precise scientific title: ((Preparation and Identification of 1,2,4-Triazolidine-3-thione Compounds and Evaluation of Their Biological Activity as Antibacterial and Anticancer Cells)).
A brief summary of the nature of the thesis:
The study involved the preparation of new chemical compounds of the 1,2,4-Triazolidine-3-thione type, which were accurately characterized using modern techniques such as FTIR and NMR. The research focused on evaluating the biological activity of these compounds, with the results demonstrating their ability to act as antibacterials against various types of bacteria and some cancer cells.
On this occasion, the Dean of the Najaf Technical Institute, Professor Haider Al-Abdeli, stated, “We at the Deanship of the Najaf Technical Institute are pleased to commend Assistant Professor Dr. Wissam Naji Al-Muhanna for her participation in the master’s thesis defense at the University of Kufa.
