Reflecting the Najaf Technical Institute’s commitment to enhancing the practical skills of young medical personnel, 100 students from the Institute’s Dental Technology Department participated in an intensive summer training program supervised by Farah Medical Foundation. This program aims to provide students with a unique opportunity to apply their theoretical knowledge and gain valuable practical experience in the field of dentistry.
Professor Salah Mahdi Al-Har supervises the students’ academic training, in addition to the institution’s teaching staff as practical supervisors. The training focuses on the practical aspects of designing and manufacturing complete and partial dentures and various dental prostheses, providing students with invaluable practical experience in this vital field. In turn, the Dean of the Najaf Technical Institute, Professor Haider Al-Abdali, stated: “We believe in the importance of practical training in building the capacity of future generations of dentists. This type of training program will enable our students to acquire advanced practical skills and interact with the latest technologies used in the dental industry, qualifying them to become future leaders in their field. We thank the Medical Foundation for hosting and training our students, and we wish them continued progress and advancement.”
The training program introduces dental students to the modern CAD/CAM equipment available in the Foundation’s laboratories. These devices are an essential part of the second-year curricula at many institutes and represent a qualitative leap in the dental industry due to their high precision and speed in designing and manufacturing dental prostheses. Providing students with this opportunity early in their educational career will enhance their understanding of modern technology and prepare them to keep pace with global developments in dentistry. For its part, Farah Medical Foundation, through this program, affirmed its commitment to supporting medical education and providing an integrated training environment that contributes to honing students’ skills and equipping them with the necessary expertise to excel in their future careers. This summer training represents a true investment in the future of the dental sector in Iraq.
