A team from the Women’s Affairs Unit at the Najaf Technical Institute established a women’s environmental corner during the Flower, Plant, and Apiary Exhibition held at the institute early last week.
The women’s team participated in the second Flower Festival, entitled “Take a Flower and a Smile.” The activity included the distribution of environmentally friendly agricultural cups and souvenir cards with visitors’ names as a memento of this special day, with a focus on disposing of harmful waste and replacing it with sustainable materials through recycling.
The Dean of the Institute, Professor Haider Al-Abdeli, praised the initiative, saying: “The Women’s Affairs Unit’s active participation in various activities held by the institute and university, whether environmental, such as the Flower Exhibition, or community-based, such as International Women’s Day, in addition to its efforts in organizing seminars and distributing awareness brochures, is conclusive evidence of its positive and tangible impact on our academic community.”
It is worth noting that the Women’s Affairs Unit is effective and has a clear impact on the student and staff community. It recently participated in the International Women’s Day activities held by the university and in the Jobs Festival and Bazaar held at the institute and university. The unit also held seminars and distributed brochures to stop violence against women.
Participating in the environmental corner were:
- Asst. Dr. Hoda Saad Azawi.
- Asst. M.E. Douha Amer Mahdi.
- Eng. Nour Al-Huda Rahim Rasool
