In an academic step that reflects the serious trend toward digitization and innovation in higher education, the Institute’s Central Library organized an extensive scientific symposium entitled “The Importance of the Electronic Library.” The symposium attracted a select group of specialists and those interested in the field of information and digital libraries. The symposium was held in the Central Library Hall. The symposium was co-organized by the Central Library Division and the Electronic Library Unit, with the attendance of academic staff, students, and researchers. The symposium aimed to highlight the pivotal role of the electronic library in supporting e-learning and providing modern knowledge sources while facilitating access to accredited digital publications. The symposium discussed the importance of developing mechanisms for collecting, organizing, and preserving information electronically, ways to enhance research cooperation between academic institutions locally and internationally, and the use of information and communications technologies to enrich the educational and research process. In turn, the Dean of the Institute, Professor Al-Abdali, said, “This symposium represents a pivotal step in the Institute’s journey towards embracing digital transformation in education. Highlighting the importance of the e-library reflects our ambitious vision to provide a modern and sustainable academic environment that enables our students and researchers to access global knowledge sources efficiently and effectively, serving scientific research and the educational process.”
This symposium is an important step for the Technical Institute in Najaf towards promoting digital transformation and developing an advanced educational and research environment, serving the progress of higher education in Iraq.
