At the kind invitation of the Media and Government Communication Department at the Najaf Governorate Diwan, and under the direct guidance of the Dean of the Najaf Technical Institute, Professor Dr. Haider Hassan Al-Abdali, the Division of Media and Government Communication at the Najaf Technical Institute, in coordination with the Accounting Department, organized a scientific and cultural visit to the Cultural Palace in Najaf.
This visit was in response to the activities of the first Flower Festival, held under the kind patronage of the Governor of Najaf, Mr. Yousef Kanawi, which aims to raise awareness of the importance of the environment and sustainability.
The festival witnessed the active participation of professors from the Najaf Technical Institute, who delivered two valuable lectures. The first lecture, titled “The Importance of Environmental Media,” highlighted the vital role played by the media in spreading environmental awareness among members of society, documenting various environmental challenges, and advocating through various media outlets for the adoption of practices that contribute to saving the environment and preserving plants. The second lecture, titled “Recycling and Thinking Green,” focused on the importance of caring for the Earth’s vegetation, the need for sustainable agriculture, and preserving the green environment for future generations. The increasing climate challenges facing the world were also addressed.
For his part, Professor Safaa Al-Sultani, from the Najaf Governorate Diwan Media Office, dedicated an article welcoming the participating students. He expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Deanship of the Najaf Technical Institute, represented by Dr. Al-Abdeli, praising the institute’s pioneering participation in sustainability and environmental conservation events and festivals. Students from the Najaf Technical Institute engaged remarkably with the Flower and Sustainability Forum. During the visit, they raised green brochures bearing awareness messages calling for the expansion of green spaces and emphasizing the need for afforestation and plant propagation in the city. This active participation by the Najaf Technical Institute reflects the deanship’s and affiliates’ commitment to positive engagement with community activities that serve environmental and sustainability issues. It also underscores the pioneering role of educational institutions in spreading environmental awareness among young people and contributing to building a greener future.
