Under the direction of the Dean of the Najaf Technical Institute, Professor Dr. Haider Al-Abdeli, and within the activities of the Najaf International Book Fair in its fourth edition, Dr. Adhraa Abdul Hadi Zwaid held a symposium in the book fair seminar hall entitled “Tourism Promotion in Strengthening the Local Economy in Najaf”, where the symposium dialogue was moderated by Professor M.M. Nour Al-Huda Al-Basri from the Media and Government Communication Department at the Institute, and in the presence of the Head of the Dental Industry Department, and a group of academic professors, students and those interested in economic and tourism affairs.
The symposium was opened with a welcoming speech presented by Professor M.M. Nour Al-Huda Al-Basri, in which she stressed the importance of tourism as a vital sector that contributes to the development of the local economy, and the necessity of effective promotion of tourist sites in Najaf, due to its distinguished religious and cultural status.
In her lecture, Dr. Adhraa Abdul Hadi Zwaid reviewed the main axes on tourism promotion and its impact on the local economy, including:
- How can tourism promotion contribute to supporting the economy The vacant and long-term
-How can tourism promotion strategies contribute to the tourism promotion process
-Is it possible to involve and work in the public and private sectors in the growth and promotion of tourism promotion
-How did cultural tourism in the city affect the promotion of tourism promotion
The symposium witnessed great interaction from the attendees, as the mechanisms for developing religious and cultural tourism in Najaf were discussed, with a focus on the role of academic and research institutions in providing studies and strategies that contribute to improving the tourism sector.
For his part, the Dean of the Najaf Technical Institute, Professor Dr. Haider Al-Abdeli, stressed the need to educate society about the importance of tourism in supporting the local economy, and the role of universities in preparing specialized cadres capable of advancing this sector.
At the end of the symposium, Dr. Adhraa Abdul Hadi Zwaid stressed the need to enhance cooperation between academic institutions, government agencies and the private sector, in order to develop effective tourism policies that achieve sustainable economic development in Najaf.
