Under the direction of the Dean of the Technical Institute, Professor Dr. Haider Al-Abdeli, and within the framework of the continuous efforts to enhance environmental awareness and adopt sustainable energy concepts, professors from the Technical Institute, Department of Dental Industry Technologies, participated in holding a symposium in the seminar hall of the Najaf International Book Fair in its fourth edition, where Professor M.M. Salah Mahdi Saleh gave a scientific symposium entitled “Clean Energy and Emissions Reduction”, in the presence of the Head of the Dental Industry Department and a group of academic professors, students and those interested in the environment.
The symposium was opened with a welcoming speech by Professor M.M. Nour Al-Huda Al-Basri, in which she stressed the importance of moving towards renewable energy sources to meet the increasing environmental challenges. After that, Professor Salah Mahdi Al-Har presented his dialogue, in which he addressed the main topics, most notably:
- Types of clean energy such as solar energy, wind energy, and hydroelectric energy.
- The impact of fuel on the environment and its role in increasing harmful emissions.
- Successful international models that have been able to reduce their emissions and achieve sustainable economic growth.
The symposium witnessed great interaction from the audience, as students and professors asked a number of questions about ways to apply these concepts at the local level. For his part, the Head of the Department of Dental Technology, Dr. Amjad Al-Khatib, Head of the Department of Dental Technology, stressed the role of education and awareness in spreading the culture of clean energy among future generations, noting that his department was a pioneer in adopting such scientific initiatives.
For his part, the Dean of the Institute, Dr. Al-Abdeli, stressed that clean energy is a priority for research and development in academic institutions, calling for enhancing cooperation between educational and governmental institutions and civil society to achieve sustainable development goals.
