As part of the Najaf Technical Institute’s campaign to promote tourism in the city of Najaf, Dr. Hoda Azawi held a workshop entitled “Sustainability of Tourism and its Impact on Economic Development and Job Opportunities”. The workshop was delivered by the lecturer, M.M. Salah Mahdi Al-Har. The workshop targeted evening study health administration students, and sought to shed light on the importance of tourism sustainability in achieving economic development and providing job opportunities in Najaf Governorate.
The workshop addressed several axes, including:
- The concept of tourism sustainability and its various dimensions.
- The importance of tourism in economic development and job creation.
- The challenges facing tourism in Najaf.
- The role of Najaf Technical Institute in tourism promotion.
- Proposals for developing sustainable tourism in the governorate.
In the same context, the Dean of the Institute, Professor Dr. Haider Al-Abdeli, praised the workshop, saying (As the Dean of the Najaf Technical Institute, I confirm that the workshop on the sustainability of tourism in Najaf presented by the lecturers and the tourism promotion campaign for the city carried out by the institute, represents a qualitative addition to our efforts to develop local tourism. The workshop highlighted the importance of tourism sustainability in achieving economic development and providing job opportunities. It presented proposals for its development. We are committed to continuing these efforts, and we seek to consolidate the position of Najaf as a distinguished religious and cultural tourism destination.) The workshop witnessed great interaction from the students, who showed interest in the topic and its importance in the future of their city.
