Karbala Technical Institute, one of the formations of the Middle Euphrates Technical University, invites its dear students to participate in the major national reading competition “A Nation Reads” – the second season, held by the General Secretariat of the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein in cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. It is a sustainable competitive national cultural project that aims to direct members of society to continue creative and purposeful reading that enables them to acquire knowledge and apply it in areas of life.

◇Participation conditions:-

  1. Age between 18 and 24 years, whether for students or those who have dropped out of school.
  2. Reading 10 books within 5 axes out of 10 available axes.
    (If you choose the Arabic language axis, you must read two books and a sermon).

◇Available topics:-

  1. Interpretation of the Qur’an
  2. Islamic thought
  3. Ethics
  4. Sciences
  5. Human development
  6. Management and economics
  7. Arabic literature and rhetoric
  8. Social studies
  9. Artificial intelligence
  10. Philosophy and logic

◇Awards offered:-

  • First place: 20 million Iraqi dinars
  • Second place: 15 million Iraqi dinars
  • Third place: 10 million Iraqi dinars
  • First winner from each governorate: one million Iraqi dinars

◇Stages and mechanism of the competition:

  1. Registration begins with choosing the five topics in which you will read.
  2. Preliminary qualifiers within universities: April 6-17, 2025.
  3. Selection of the top three from each governorate during the same period.
  4. Final qualifiers: In the holy city of Karbala, coinciding with the Muhammadan week, to compete between the top governorates.
