The President of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Lateef Al-Zubaidi, accompanied by the University’s Administrative Assistant, Prof. Dr. Mohammed Al-Majtoumi, and a delegation of professors, attended the central university celebration commemorating the birth anniversary of Imam Ali (PBUH) on the 13th of Rajab. The event was hosted by the Technical Institute of Najaf, under the hospitality of the institute’s staff and administration, led by Prof. Dr. Haidar Hassan Al-Abdali, alongside the institute’s assistants for academic, administrative, and student affairs, as well as department heads.
On this joyous occasion of the birth of Imam Ali Ibn Abi Talib (PBUH), the Technical Institute of Najaf was adorned with vibrant decorations in the festival square, where students gathered with their professors and guests for a grand celebration. The event commenced with recitations from the Holy Quran, the national anthem, and a moment of silence to honor Iraq’s martyrs.
The festival stage welcomed a choir group that performed collective praises of Ahl al-Bayt (PBUH), highlighting the virtues of Imam Ali (PBUH) and the significance of the occasion.
Prof. Dr. Al-Zubaidi delivered a speech emphasizing the extraordinary personality of Imam Ali (PBUH), which rendered him an eternal symbol of true justice and a global icon of humanity. He encouraged everyone, including himself, to follow the example of Imam Ali, who was the repository of the Prophet’s knowledge and a father to the poor and orphans.
As part of the event, Prof. Dr. Al-Zubaidi and Prof. Dr. Al-Abdali honored distinguished school students who attended the celebration as guests.
In conclusion, Dr. Al-Zubaidi extended his heartfelt gratitude to the organizers of the festival and all attendees.
