The Criminal and Judicial Evidence Department at Najaf Technical Institute, in cooperation with the National Security Service in the province, organized an educational seminar on the national strategy to combat extremism that leads to terrorism, last Sunday in the hall of the Criminal Evidence Techniques Department.
The seminar was attended by a group of professors and students from the institute, in addition to Dr. Ali Muhammad Haider, Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs, and Dr. Haider Al-Kaabi, Head of the Criminal Evidence Department. The seminar was delivered by Dr. Wathiq Hassan Kazim – Iraqi National Security Service
/Training and Development Department – specializing in combating extremism and enhancing intellectual security, where he discussed in detail the dimensions of the national strategy adopted by the state to combat extremism, and the importance of the role of youth in confronting this dangerous phenomenon.
The lecturer answered several pivotal questions in his seminar, which included:

  1. What are the laws and legislations that have been enacted to combat extremism? What are the challenges facing the implementation of these laws?
  2. How does extremism affect the cohesion of society? What are the negative effects on social relations? How can we build a society that is more immune to extremist ideas? 3. What is the role of the media in spreading awareness of the dangers of extremism? What are the challenges facing the media in this field?
    The Dean of the Najaf Technical Institute, Professor Al-Abdeli, stressed the importance of this symposium in educating students about the dangers of extremism and terrorism, and introducing them to the efforts made by the state to combat it. He added that such events contribute to building an aware generation capable of facing the challenges facing society. For their part, the students participating in the symposium praised the topic that was raised, stressing the importance of such symposiums in refining their awareness and providing them with the necessary knowledge to confront extremist ideas.
    Finally, the awareness symposium organized by the Department of Forensic and Judicial Evidence at the Najaf Technical Institute in cooperation with the National Security Advisory stressed the importance of joint cooperation between academic institutions and security agencies in combating extremism. This symposium resulted in a fruitful dialogue on the dimensions of this complex phenomenon, and contributed to raising awareness among young people about the dangers of extremism and ways to confront it. There is no doubt that such initiatives contribute significantly to building an aware society capable of facing the challenges it faces.
