The course also covered the application of Civil 3D in the design of road networks and infrastructure. Participants explored techniques for creating axes, profiles, and cross-sections, as well as creating detailed design drawings for various engineering projects. A particularly noteworthy aspect of the course was its focus on addressing urban transportation challenges in Iraq. Dr. Al-Kafaei discussed the design and analysis of modern transportation systems such as trams, bus rapid transit, and metros. He highlighted the potential of these systems to alleviate traffic congestion, improve mobility, and foster sustainable development in Iraqi cities. In the same context, the Dean of the Institute, Professor Dr. Haider Al-Abdeli, stated: (I am pleased to witness the success of the advanced training course in the field of engineering surveying organized by the Civil Engineering Department at the Institute. This course is the culmination of our efforts to keep pace with the latest technological developments in the field of engineering, and to provide our students and engineers with the skills and knowledge necessary to meet the challenges of the labor market. The focus on data processing and analysis techniques using specialized programs such as Civil 3D reflects our keenness to qualify engineering cadres capable of dealing with complex projects with high efficiency. Also, addressing vital topics such as urban transportation and its applications in local reality confirms our commitment to graduating engineers capable of contributing to the development of infrastructure in our country.) Dr. Al-Kafai said: “By implementing advanced transportation systems such as trams and metros, we can significantly reduce traffic congestion and improve the overall quality of life in our cities. These systems not only contribute to enhancing communication, but also contribute to a cleaner environment by reducing emissions.” The training course at the Technical Institute in Najaf confirms the institution’s commitment to staying at the forefront of technological developments in the engineering sector. By equipping its students and professionals with the skills to use the latest software and hardware, the institute has enabled them to contribute to the development of infrastructure and urban planning in Iraq.
