Najaf Technical Institute achieved a qualitative leap in the field of environmental improvement, coinciding with the Middle Euphrates Technical University obtaining the center at the level of Iraq in the UI Green Metric global classification of green universities. The year 2024 witnessed the institute implementing a series of diverse initiatives and activities, which had a significant impact in raising the level of environmental awareness of its members and the environmental impact.
The institute’s efforts began with a large-scale afforestation campaign, as it began planting more local pieces and plants, in cooperation with various departments and divisions. The institute also organized educational workshops on the importance of fruits and their benefits, and awareness seminars on the danger of desertification. It is limited to intensive media through social media, and does not contain awareness videos and articles.
The institute’s efforts did not stop at this point, but it only held a flower and company exhibition, which achieved great success and was able to highlight government associations and private nurseries. The Nigerian Institute also hosted a field visit for ministers and officials, who received their efforts The Institute in the field of environmental improvement.
It is agreed that these achievements would not have been possible without the great support that the Higher Institute receives from the university administration, the Ministry of Higher Scientific Education, the Ministry of Agriculture and the close supervision of the activity of the Dean of the Najaf Technical Institute, Professor Dr. Haider Hassan Al-Abdeli. The credit for this success is also due to the combined efforts of students and professors.

Students and professors of the Scientific Technology Department at the Technical Technical Institute in Najaf launched a large voluntary campaign for afforestation, at the invitation of the Minister of Higher Education for Scientific Education, and within the framework of celebrating the National Afforestation Day.
