In a step that reflects its commitment to supporting youth and innovation, the Najaf Technical Institute – Department of Oil Refining Technologies, in cooperation with the Ministry of Industry and Minerals / Department of Industrial Development and Organization, held an intensive training workshop on the technological incubator for entrepreneurial projects. This workshop, which was held on Tuesday, December 4, 2024, as part of the activities of the Global Entrepreneurship Week, came to emphasize the importance of entrepreneurship in building a prosperous future for Iraq.
The workshop highlighted the pivotal role played by technological incubators in supporting entrepreneurs and providing the necessary resources to develop their ideas and transform them into successful projects. The workshop emphasized the importance of entrepreneurial projects in diversifying sources of income and creating new job opportunities, especially in light of the economic challenges facing the country. Participants were provided with basic skills in formulating project ideas, developing business plans, marketing, and risk management.
The workshop was a great success, as it witnessed wide interaction from students and graduates. The workshop came out with a number of important recommendations, including:

  1. The need to continue organizing such training programs.
  2. The importance of providing the necessary funding to support entrepreneurial projects.
  3. Encouraging cooperation between universities and the private sector.

In this regard, the Dean of the Technical Institute, Professor Dr. Al-Abdali, stated, “We are proud to organize this workshop, which aims to unleash the creative energies of young people and encourage them to participate in building a better future for their country.” In a comment by the lecturer, Dr. Naeem, he said, “Do not wait for a job to change your life, but change your life with the job you create yourself. In private projects lies the real power to achieve personal and national economic growth. He added, “The student is not just a recipient of information, but he is capable of being innovative and creative. By combining study, building successful projects and benefiting from the advice of professors at the institute, students can become future leaders.” )
Finally, this workshop is an important step in the path of supporting entrepreneurship in Iraq, and it confirms the commitment of the Najaf Technical Institute to empowering young people and providing them with the skills and knowledge necessary to achieve their dreams.
