Under the direction of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and under the generous patronage of the Deanship of the Najaf Technical Institute and within the activities of (Leadership Week), the Department of Forensic and Judicial Evidence Technologies organized a symposium entitled (Economic Empowerment of Women and Its Impact on Sustainable Development in Light of the Current Economy in Iraq), presented by the lecturer M. Ammar Al-Issawi.
The symposium addressed the role of women in achieving sustainable development by enhancing their participation in economic activity. The lecturer reviewed the challenges facing Iraqi women in the labor market, such as the wage gap, weak economic empowerment, and cultural and social challenges. He also discussed government policies and programs supporting women’s empowerment, stressing the need to increase investments in women’s education and training to raise their efficiency.
The symposium focused on the importance of women’s economic empowerment as a fundamental pillar for achieving sustainable development, noting that the involvement of women in various economic sectors enhances economic growth, reduces poverty, and enhances social stability.
