In the framework of efforts to spread cultural awareness and promote moderate thought, the Department of Forensic and Judicial Evidence Techniques at Najaf Technical Institute, one of the formations of the Middle Euphrates Technical University, organized a scientific seminar entitled “The Concept of Extremism”.
It was presented by the lecturer, M.M. Azhar Hussein Jaber, in the presence of a number of interested professors and students. The seminar addressed the concept of extremism from multiple angles, starting with its definition and causes, reaching its negative effects on the individual and society, concluding with a paper test.
The lecture focused on the need to confront extremist ideas by spreading a culture of tolerance and understanding among different groups. It also addressed the effective role that educational institutions can play in consolidating human values and rejecting violence.
The seminar witnessed great interaction from the attendees, as the floor was opened for discussion and questions were asked, which contributed to enriching the dialogue on ways to prevent extremism and enhance intellectual security in society.
The Dean of the Najaf Technical Institute, Professor Dr. Haider Hassan Al-Abdeli, stated that extremism in all its forms is a looming danger for the contemporary student, and it is necessary to raise awareness about it.
