Government Communication and Media Division / Najaf Technical Institute
The Najaf Technical Institute concluded the second phase of breast cancer awareness activities at the end of November, which was done by setting up a medical awareness camp in the institute’s Mother’s Garden.
This phase witnessed fruitful cooperation between various sectors, as the campaign’s organizing committee supervised the establishment and preparation of the camp and followed up on spreading awareness widely through social media. Volunteer students also made strenuous efforts in organizing and implementing many awareness activities, which included
- An intensive field medical awareness campaign, carried out by the institute’s professors and students.
2 To create an atmosphere of fun and interaction, many innovative activities were organized, such as the balloon arch and the “Beauty and Strength” fingerprint board, which contributed to attracting the attention of the participants and spreading the spirit of optimism and hope. - Awareness banners and pictures related to the occasion were installed.
- Gifts, sweets and hot drinks were also distributed, which gave the campaign a festive atmosphere.
It is worth noting that the first phase of awareness for early detection of breast cancer began with an awareness workshop hosted by a female gynecologist who met with students and women in a useful session that was well received by the attendees. Through it, the illuminated challenge tree was installed on the workshop floor and chocolate was distributed on that occasion, followed by other awareness seminars and workshops to complete the health awareness phase among the institute community.
These joint efforts resulted in achieving noticeable positive results, as the questionnaires that were conducted showed a significant increase in the level of awareness among the participants about the importance of early detection of breast cancer, in addition to their acquisition of valuable information about risk factors, symptoms of the disease and how to prevent it. We are confident that this campaign will contribute effectively to saving many lives.
