Under the patronage of the Dean of Najaf Technical Institute, Professor Dr. Haider Hassan Abdul Hussein Al-Abdali, the Forensic Evidence Department organized a distinguished scientific and practical activity within the subject of (Fingerprints and Prints). Supervised by the Head of Department and its esteemed coordinator, and with the participation of a select group of faculty members and second-year students, the activity was titled: (Revealing and Lifting Latent Fingerprints from Crime Scenes). Assistant Professor Dr. Nawras Ahmed Al-Mousawi presented a detailed practical demonstration covering the most prominent modern techniques used in detecting latent fingerprints, in addition to reviewing the tools and equipment used in this specialized field. The activity also included a scientific explanation of the types of powder used for fingerprint revealing, including standard black and white powder, magnetic powder, and fluorescent powder in various colors, along with an explanation of the mechanisms for using each type according to the nature of the surfaces and areas targeted. The activity included direct practical applications carried out by second-year students, who received field training in fingerprint revealing methods. From porous and non-porous surfaces and lifting them using adhesive tape according to the approved technical controls in forensic science, which enhances their ability to professionally deal with the crime scene and analyze forensic evidence with high accuracy and efficiency. This activity comes within the framework of the Najaf Technical Institute\u2019s keenness to enhance the applied aspect and link theoretical concepts with practical practice, which contributes to preparing qualified scientific and technical personnel who possess the necessary specialized skills to keep pace with modern developments in the field of forensic evidence and to consolidate the culture of applied education as a basic pillar for building solid professional expertise that serves society and security and scientific institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
