{"id":51378,"date":"2026-04-07T11:53:21","date_gmt":"2026-04-07T11:53:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/inj.atu.edu.iq\/?p=51378"},"modified":"2026-04-07T11:53:33","modified_gmt":"2026-04-07T11:53:33","slug":"national-evaluation-team-visits-al-furat-al-awsat-technical-university-a-step-toward-institutional-accreditation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/inj.atu.edu.iq\/?p=51378&lang=en","title":{"rendered":"National Evaluation Team Visits Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University: A Step Toward Institutional Accreditation"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As part of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University\u2019s pursuit of achieving national institutional accreditation\u2014aimed at enhancing its academic standing, affirming its commitment to quality and governance standards, and supporting its strategic plans to develop technical programs, improve educational outcomes, and strengthen its ability to meet labor market needs\u2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A National Evaluation Team and the Institutional Accreditation Council from the Supervision and Scientific Evaluation Authority at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research visited Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University. The evaluation visit will last for seven days and includes the university presidency, its departments, and centers, and will also cover its colleges and institutes, which total seventeen formations, in addition to laboratories and administrative facilities. The visit aims to complete the requirements of the Institutional Accreditation Council by reviewing the university\u2019s eligibility for institutional accreditation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The visit also includes assessing scientific and administrative capabilities, reviewing quality assurance mechanisms, and documenting evaluation processes in academic programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For his part, the University President, Professor Dr. Hassan Latif Al-Zubaidi, during hosting the team in the presence of senior university leadership, praised the efforts of the Ministry of Higher Education in strengthening the educational process. He emphasized the university\u2019s commitment to fulfilling all national accreditation requirements according to approved standards and its strategic plans to achieve the highest levels of quality and academic excellence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He further affirmed the university\u2019s continuous efforts in institutional and scientific development to enhance its technical pathways, which are based on a clear vision centered on:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Enhancing the quality of teaching and learning<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Developing scientific research<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Establishing good governance<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strengthening engagement with society and the labor market<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He also commended the efforts of all university staff and formations in promoting quality concepts, building institutional systems, and achieving accreditation standards according to best academic and administrative practices, expressing hope that these efforts will culminate in obtaining institutional accreditation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Meanwhile, the Head of the Evaluation Team, Assistant Professor Dr. Khalid Shannawa, held a series of meetings with the university presidency, deans, and staff. He reviewed quality files, academic plans, research indicators, and community service activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The team also examined the work environment, scientific and administrative capabilities, and reviewed quality assurance mechanisms and documentation of evaluation processes within the academic environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He explained that the visit aims to assess the current status of the educational institution and ensure the implementation of quality standards and continuous development. He noted that the visit program includes reviewing the educational environment, infrastructure, teaching practices, and quality assurance mechanisms across various sectors of the university, based on evidence and documents outlined in the National Institutional Accreditation Guide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This visit aligns with the university\u2019s direction to enhance education quality and develop its academic environment.
