Media and Government Communication Division \/ Al-Najaf Technical Institute<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the occasion of the International Week for Preventing Violent Extremism, the Department of Health Administration Technologies at Al-Najaf Technical Institute organized a specialized workshop entitled \u201cRejecting Violence Leading to Terrorism.\u201d<\/strong> The workshop was delivered by Dr. Thawra Latif Jassim on Tuesday, February 17, at the Scientific Complex Hall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his remarks on the workshop, the Dean of the Institute, Professor Dr. Haider Hassan Al-Abdali, stated:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the workshop, Dr. Thawra Latif Jassim defined violent extremism as coercive behaviors aimed at imposing a particular ideology and undermining security. She highlighted the main themes of the workshop as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Motives and Causes:<\/strong> An analysis of economic factors such as poverty and unemployment, political factors such as marginalization and collective grievances, and ideological justifications that legitimize violence.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Consequences:<\/strong> Emphasizing human rights violations, the spread of fear and coercion, and long-term physical and psychological harm.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Forms of Violence:<\/strong> Addressing the use of physical violence, such as killing and bombings, as illegitimate means to achieve political objectives.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    The workshop concluded by stressing the importance of strengthening community resilience to confront extremist actions, while affirming the vital role of educational institutions in promoting tolerance and rejecting violence in all its forms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
