Media and Government Communication Division \/ Al-Najaf Technical Institute<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In line with ministerial directives and the vision of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University to enhance intellectual awareness within the academic community, the Department of Health Administration Technologies at Al-Najaf Technical Institute organized an educational scientific seminar entitled \u201cRejecting Violent Extremism.\u201d<\/strong> The seminar was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Hanan Abbas Salman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The seminar was held on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at the Scientific Complex Hall, with a large attendance of students from various scientific departments and academic stages of the institute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the sidelines of the seminar, the Dean of Al-Najaf Technical Institute, Professor Dr. Haider Hassan Al-Abdali, stated:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOrganizing such seminars comes within our academic and national responsibility to safeguard the minds of our youth against alien ideas and extremist practices. We believe that the university is not only a place for learning, but also the primary platform for building awareness and shaping tolerant personalities that reject violence and believe in dialogue as the only path toward social and political development. One of our foremost goals is to create a safe educational environment that graduates generations who contribute to strengthening societal peace and building the future of Iraq.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

During the seminar, the presenter reviewed the concept of \u201cRejecting Violent Extremism\u201d<\/strong> as a comprehensive international and local effort aimed at promoting the values of moderation to counter ideologies that lead to terrorism. She addressed three main themes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. The Importance of Rejecting Violence:<\/strong> As a crucial necessity to protect societal peace and achieve sustainable security.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Dimensions of Confrontation:<\/strong> Emphasizing intellectual, educational, and cultural approaches, rather than relying solely on security measures.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Adopted Mechanisms:<\/strong> Including promoting intellectual openness through education, activating social initiatives for youth and women, and implementing legal measures that ensure human rights and protect civilians.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    The seminar concluded by affirming that confronting extremist ideology is a fundamental human right, and that the integration of academic and community efforts is the optimal path to creating an environment that rejects violence and embraces peace as a way of life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
