In a new scientific achievement added to the Najaf Technical Institute’s impressive record, Professor Dr. Hassan Latif Al-Zubaidi, President of the Middle Euphrates Technical University, honored professor Ayah Adel Hashem Al-Husseini, a faculty member in the Dental prosthetic Department at the institute, by awarding her the “Innovation Shield.” This recognition was given in appreciation of her distinguished research efforts and her authorship of a critical book in English that addresses the philosophy of urban life. The award was for her book, titled:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Depicting the Concept of the Modern Vision of Post-Modern Urban Life”: A Comparative Analytical Study of the Novels “A Clockwork Orange” and “Skyscraper.” The book presents an in-depth critical study of the visions of writers Anthony Burgess and J. G. Ballard, exploring how cities in postmodern literature have become stages for social conflicts and the collapse of values. The research focuses on analyzing the societal conditions that lead to destruction through unsettling events that transcend traditional notions of daily life. The award-winning author addressed several fundamental issues, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Urban Density Crisis: The impact of population and economic expansion on individual freedom, as seen in the analysis of Franz’s character and his worldview beyond the city walls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Violence and Social Structures: An examination of the role of violence in contemporary societies and how powerful systems suppress innocent individuals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Construction of Imaginary Worlds: How Burgess and Ballard constructed characters and settings that embody philosophical perspectives on the postmodern era, economic laws, and the value of machinery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For his part, the Dean of the Najaf Technical Institute, Professor Dr. Haider Hassan Al-Abdali, congratulated Ms. Aya Adel on this achievement, emphasizing that the awarding of innovation shields to institute staff by the university administration reflects the ongoing support for rigorous scientific research and underscores the faculty’s ability to engage in global intellectual and critical fields, thus enhancing the university’s ranking in academic circles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
