The Institute witnessed a solemn Ashura morning, as the Dean of the Institute, Professor Dr. Haider Al-Abdali, and a group of distinguished professors and advanced institute staff performed the Husseini banner-raising ceremony. This annual tradition marks the beginning of mourning with the advent of the month of Muharram and affirms the intermingling of science and faith within our academic edifice.
Raising the banner of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) at the Institute is not just an annual ritual; rather, it embodies the glorification of God’s rites and draws inspiration from the sublime values \u200b\u200b\u200b\u200bupon which the martyred Imam stood. As has been the tradition of Hussein at the Institute, this blessed stand affirms that knowledge is inseparable from the principles of truth, justice, and sacrifice. In a moving speech on this occasion, the Dean of the Institute, Dr. Al-Abdeli, stated, “Raising the banner of Hussein (peace be upon him) above the sky of our Institute is a proof of truth for the Imam of Truth, and a symbol of sacrifice, giving, generosity, and advice.” Dr. Al-Abdeli added, emphasizing that “Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) is a beacon of knowledge and scholars, and a reformer for society and the world as a whole.” Hussein (peace be upon him) was a man who fought injustice with himself, his children, and everything he owned for the sake of God, thus depicting the highest images of sacrifice and reform.
This occasion invites us all to reflect on the role played by Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) as an inspiring leader, not only spiritually, but also scientifically and socially. His revolution was a path toward comprehensive reform and the fight against ignorance and injustice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
