Professor Dr. Haider Hassan Al-Abdali, Dean of the Najaf Technical Institute, and all the institute’s affiliates congratulate the distinguished professor Jilan Jassim Muhammad, one of the institute’s distinguished talents, on receiving her doctorate in Arabic Language and Literature.
Professor Jilan Jassim Muhammad received this prestigious academic degree for her dissertation entitled: “Poetry in the Book of Himyar Poets: Their News and Poems in the Pre-Islamic and Islamic Eras: A Study in Light of Textual Criteria,” which she submitted to the College of Education for Girls at the University of Kufa.
This dissertation is a qualitative and important addition to the literary and critical library, as it examines and analyzes a rich aspect of ancient Arabic poetry, shedding light on the creativity of Himyar poets during a pivotal period in the history of Arabic literature. The examination committee commended the outstanding academic effort and research depth demonstrated in this thesis.
This academic achievement by Professor Jilan Jassim Muhammad is a source of pride for Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, the Najaf Technical Institute, and the University of Kufa alike, and underscores the distinguished scientific competencies of the institute.
