The Electrical Technology Department at the Institute organized a training course titled “Personal Safety Equipment (PPE)” as part of its ongoing training program to qualify second-year students and prepare them to enter the labor market with high professional standards that guarantee their safety and the safety of their colleagues in various work environments. Dr. Hassan Rabie, Head of the Electrical Technology Department, lectured at the three-day course in the Scientific Complex Hall.
The course aimed to raise awareness of the importance of implementing occupational safety procedures and using personal protective equipment, and to reduce the incidence of accidents and injuries that may occur during daily work, especially in technical and field-based sectors. The course included a detailed explanation of workplace hazards and the most important modern methods for preventing them. The vital role played by both the employee and the institution in promoting a culture of safety was also emphasized. The course included an explanation of the types of personal protective equipment, how to use them correctly, and methods for reporting potential hazards in the workplace. The course was interactive, accompanied by demonstrations and practical examples, providing participants with a practical understanding of the concepts. The course also included open discussion sessions during which students had the opportunity to ask questions and share their experiences and concerns related to the reality of the workplace. The course was well received by the participating students, who expressed their appreciation for the department’s efforts in organizing such events that address their practical needs and contribute to preparing them for the requirements of the job market after graduation. The course included several key topics, including: identifying workplace hazards and means of prevention, the role of both the worker and the institution in promoting a culture of safety, the importance of adhering to occupational safety instructions, the correct use of personal protective equipment, and methods for reporting potential hazards. Professor Dr. Haider Hassan Al-Abdeli, Dean of the Najaf Technical Institute, praised the important role of such courses, as they enhance and increase awareness of occupational safety in the workplace, not to mention numerous other benefits. This course is part of a series of training activities implemented by The Institute, as part of its strategic plan, aims to develop students’ skills, increase their professional awareness, and enable them to perform their future tasks within safe work environments in accordance with national and international standards in the field of occupational safety and health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
