His Eminence Ayatollah Sayyid Riyad al-Hakim (may his shadow be extended) delivered a valuable intellectual lecture entitled “Deviant Trends and Ways to Confront Them with Correct Doctrine.” The lecture was held in the Scientific Complex Hall at the Najaf Technical Institute, one of the departments of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University.
The lecture was attended by the President of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, Professor Hassan Latif Al-Zubaidi; the Scientific Assistant to the President of the University, Professor Ahmed Ghanem Wadai; the Administrative Assistant, Professor Muhammad Abdul Mohsen Al-Majtoumi; and the Dean of the Najaf Technical Institute, Professor Haider Hassan Al-Abdali, in addition to a select group of professors and students. In his lecture, Ayatollah al-Hakim addressed the most prominent intellectual and ideological challenges facing society, highlighting the dangers of deviant trends and their negative impact on youth in particular. He emphasized the importance of instilling correct doctrine through a moderate and balanced approach based on the Holy Quran, the Prophet’s Sunnah, and the teachings of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them).
At the conclusion of the lecture, the attendees praised the importance of such meetings in enhancing intellectual and cultural awareness and protecting society from destructive and extremist ideas. They expressed their thanks and gratitude to Ayatollah al-Hakim for his great efforts in serving authentic Islamic thought and spreading the culture of moderation and tolerance.
The President of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, Professor Hassan Latif al-Zubaidi, commended Ayatollah al-Hakim’s valuable lecture. It is noteworthy that Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, under the direction of the esteemed University President, held a number of religious and intellectual forums and lectures at the Technical Institute – Najaf, including the birth of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) on the 13th of Rajab, as part of the university’s curriculum to enhance cultural and religious awareness among students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
