This preparation keeps pace with the rapid advancements in engineering and technology and their applications in the healthcare sector. The Biomedical Engineering Technology Department was established at the Najaf Technical Institute by virtue of Middle Euphrates Technical University letter No. (7\/47\/7837) dated September 25, 2018. The first cohort of students was admitted in the 2018-2019 academic year. The department aims to provide healthcare institutions with technical personnel possessing the scientific knowledge and practical skills necessary to operate, maintain, and troubleshoot medical devices, ensuring their efficiency and operational readiness. In line with Middle Euphrates Technical University&#8217;s plan to transition to a polytechnical education system by 2026, the department has undergone significant development in its academic structure and curriculum, aligning with the requirements of modern technical education and the needs of the labor market and healthcare institutions. The department&#8217;s academic program has been restructured into a four-year course of study, culminating in a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Technology upon completion of all academic and practical requirements. The new polytechnic program focuses on integrating engineering and medical knowledge with technical applications by combining theoretical study with practical, laboratory, and field training.
