About the Department
The Quality Assurance and Performance Evaluation Department was established in 2008 and is administratively linked to the Dean of the Institute (Chairman of the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Committee). The department consists of three units:
1- Quality Assurance Unit.
2- Performance Evaluation Unit.
3- Laboratory Accreditation Unit.

Goals

Units of the Department
  • Quality Assurance Unit.
    • Spread the culture of quality among faculty members, students, and all staff by organizing workshops to enhance the concepts of academic accreditation in the institute's departments.
    1- Preparing reports on the implementation of institutional and program accreditation.
    2- Monitoring updates on quality assurance and academic accreditation.
    3- Documenting institutional and program accreditation standards for the institute.
    4- Encouraging faculty members to publish scientific research in internationally ranked journals.
    5- Conducting visits by the Quality Assurance Unit to scientific departments, units, and units to identify weaknesses in the quality area and urge them to address them.
    6- Measuring opinions through conducting periodic surveys on the components of the educational process (faculty, student, curriculum).
  • Performance Evaluation Unit.
    • Evaluate the performance in the institute's departments and take necessary actions to assess the level of performance and its quality.
    1- Creating a database for all the activities of the institute's departments and monitoring the development of the educational process within them.
    2- Providing assistance, advice, and guidance to all departments in the area of performance enhancement programs.
    3- Working on evaluating the electronic performance of all the institute’s departments, sections, and units, and submitting the necessary reports.
    4- Preparing final reports on the annual performance of the institute’s staff.
    5- Any other tasks assigned to the department from the Quality Assurance and University Performance section to support the performance evaluation process.
  • Laboratory Accreditation Unit.
    • Monitoring and auditing laboratory specifications with the requirements of approved standard specifications.
    1- Defining the technical specifications for devices and equipment, coding them, and documenting their data in coordination with the laboratory supervisors.
    2- Following up on the calibration programs for devices and equipment with relevant authorities.
    3- Coordinating with the University Laboratory Accreditation Department to organize programmed courses to train laboratory staff according to international specifications and national standards.
    4- Implementing the procedures and requirements specified by the laboratory accreditation team on-site.
    5- Coordinating with relevant authorities to hold specialized courses to train department staff on laboratory auditor programs and quality inspectors for laboratory accreditation.
    6- Preparing a study for laboratories and scientific departments that reflects the current situation, required improvements, and possible correction of any issues.
